The building is actually a listed building so they can't knock it down, but I don't know what happened about that now. The local council has started to knock it down to make way for housing estates which is a real shame. An old friend and I would normally meet up every few months to go up to the castle to take photographs, guess we'll have to look for somewhere else to go :cries:

Beautiful photograph. Caused me to google the castle and I find it has been set afire. Was your image before the fire. There doesn't appear to be that much damage are they just using the fire as an excuse to get rid of it?

Thank you! To be honest with you, I wouldn't be surprised if the local authorities planned it to get rid of the building. However, it's still standing as far as I'm aware! The image was taken after the fire. I read that the fire was in May and I took the photos in December. I can honestly say when I went to take the photos, it never looked as though it was badly burnt.
